Life moves fast, and it’s easy to lose track of the bigger picture amidst daily responsibilities. This framework provides a structured approach to pause, reflect, and realign, ensuring you stay intentional about your time, energy, and focus.
This template is inspired by ideas I gained from a workshop I attended last year, led by Ali Abdaal, combined with insights from other authors and my own experiences. I’ve compiled and structured these concepts into a practical framework designed to help others align their goals and stay focused throughout the year.
The Annual Alignment Session is the cornerstone of this framework, conducted at the beginning of each year (ideally during the first week of January). It’s your dedicated time to step back, reflect on the past year, and set the tone for the year ahead.
During this session, you will:
By starting the year with this 3-4 hour session**,** you establish a clear and intentional foundation for everything you plan to achieve.
To maintain momentum and adapt to any changes, quarterly reviews are conducted every 3 months throughout the year. These shorter sessions ensure that your goals stay relevant, your progress is celebrated, and adjustments are made where necessary.
Each quarterly review consists of three steps:
By dedicating 1–2 hours to these reviews at the end of each quarter, you’ll stay on track and ensure that you close the year feeling accomplished and aligned.
